About

The AITREC CyberAI Scholarship Program is a hands-on, 3-month, 100% online professional training program designed for students, graduates, ICT professionals, and aspiring technology practitioners seeking practical, industry-relevant skills in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence.

The programme combines live instructor-led classes, self-paced learning, practical CyberLabs, expert technical and career mentorship, continuous assessment, and a hands-on CyberAI capstone project. Participants gain the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world cybersecurity challenges, develop practical technical capabilities, build a professional portfolio, and earn an AITREC CyberAI Certificate upon successful completion.

The AITREC CyberAI Scholarship Program is open to motivated individuals interested in building practical skills in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence.

Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Demonstrate genuine interest in Cybersecurity and AI
  • Have access to a computer and reliable internet
  • Commit to the full 12-week program
  • Participate in classes, practical labs, assessments, and the capstone project
  • Demonstrate motivation and clear career or learning goals

No advanced cybersecurity or AI experience is required.

Selection

Applications are assessed based on motivation, background, commitment, career goals, and potential. Scholarship places are limited, so meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee selection.

Scholarship Support

The program has a value of KES 65,000 (approximately USD 504).

Selected participants receive KES 40,000 (approximately USD 310) in scholarship support and contribute KES 25,000 (approximately USD 194) to enroll.

12-WEEK PROGRAM

MONTH 1 — CYBERSECURITY FOUNDATIONS

Weeks 1–4: Cybersecurity fundamentals, networking and system security, cyber threats and defense, security operations, SIEM, threat intelligence, and incident response.

MONTH 2 — AI FOR CYBERSECURITY

Weeks 5–8: AI and machine learning fundamentals, AI-powered threat detection, anomaly detection, Generative AI for cybersecurity, prompt engineering, AI security and emerging threats.

MONTH 3 — ADVANCED CYBERAI

Weeks 9–12: Digital forensics and AI, ethical hacking and vulnerability management, cyber risk, governance and privacy, followed by a practical CyberAI Capstone Project.

Lead Trainer & Mentor

Dr. Stanley M. Githinji is a cybersecurity researcher, educator, and technology consultant with 18+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, research, consultancy and professional training. He holds a PhD in Information Systems (UNISA), MSc in IT Security & Audit (Strathmore University), BSc in Applied Computer Science (Daystar University), and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design & Performance Improvement (Arizona State University).

His expertise includes Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Forensics, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Cryptography, IT Governance, Risk Management and Digital Transformation. As Lead Trainer and Mentor, he combines academic and practical industry experience to help participants develop hands-on CyberAI skills, practical projects, professional portfolios and career readiness.
